Sportlink Limited was formed in September 1996 by Ian Carrott. Its primary function was to create a means of linking industry with sport. The idea was to establish a clear, effective link between companies wishing to be associated with sport and those sportsmen and women desperately in need of sponsorship.
The image of the Company has been portrayed by the logo to provide a visual link between industry and sport. Our aim is for companies in the future to be proud to display this logo on their stationery showing their link with sport. We feel that sport will touch the lives of the nation, influencing families, businesses and dare we say it, the governments of the world.
At the moment there is a gap between the sporting individual and the would-be corporate sponsor. Sports people have the fear of being misunderstood and exploited, whilst the sponsor can see very little or no visible return on his investment.
Sports men and women today are generally limited to the use of paid agents to manage their fund raising and as a result become distanced from the company sponsor. Sportlink Ltd's aim is to bridge the gap between the sportsmen and women of our nation and industry by building personal links. People at work admire their sporting heroes and enjoy the success as much as the heroes themselves! The close liaison with the trials and tribulations of these sports heroes can in turn encourage and motivate success in the work place.
